FUNKY CAT ARTWORK IS FUNKY FUN TO ENJOY!

Welcome to the Funky Cat Art Museum! I realize we're all a little busy these days to actually go to a REAL museum, so I decided to create a virtual one - for all you cat and art lovers to enjoy.

Art and cats go together so well...the graceful feline form and inscrutable feline face just lend themselves to being transformed into unique artistic renderings...and who says cats have to look REALISTIC, right?

Let's hear it for all those purple long necked green polk-a-dotted cats out there!

Okay, are you ready to feast your eyes on some funky feline art?

WHAT'S THAT? YOU'RE NO GOOD AT ART?

Nonsense! Art isn't about being "good" or "bad." Art is about expressing yourself and enjoying the creative process. Anyone can be "good" at art, including YOU, fellow feline-lover.

Besides, as my Funky Cat Art Museum demonstrates, you don't need to be able to draw or paint realistically to express yourself.

Cats (and anything else, for that matter) can be visually expressed in so many unique, interesting, colorful, and funky ways.

Play around with color and texture. Draw your cat first, on a piece of sketch paper, then choose the colors YOU like. Now just go to town and paint your picture! Use water colors for a softer, fuzzier, more blendy look - acrylics for more vibrant hues. Or you can even try pastels!

Banish your inner critic and become reaquainted with your inner artist you left behind in grade school. Paint in bold brash brush strokes. Add glitter, strips of tissue paper or material, or other forms of texture if you like.

Or... here is a fun idea; why not paint a cat on a stone? The round shape of the cat is perfect for your round canvas of a stone. Paint a realistic cat if you like (just the fact it's on a STONE makes it FUNKY). Or paint the whole thing using little dots of paint!

A stone is a free canvas, after all...so even if you goof up...FIND ANOTHER STONE!

If you are more of a 3D sort of person, buy yourself some sculpting clay (or Sculpey - or even Model Magic...HEY, it doesn't have to be just for kids)! Make a one-of-a-kind cat sculpture.

Don't be afraid to use the "trick" of attaching legs with pieces of a toothpick.

SHHH...no one has to know.

Then when your cat is dry, why not paint him purple with green polk-a-dots?
